In 1956 a group of pioneering family growers grouped together in the small village of Ville-sur-Arce in the south of Champagne with the aim of producing a range of Champagnes to compete with some of the most respected "Grandes Marques". More than 50 years later and these families have finally realised their dream. 'Lelieur' is a local name given to 'The Craftsman' and this stunning vintage Champagne is a masterclass in blending in the cellar.
The Aube region in the South of Champagne is famous for its Burgundian like terroir and is the home of Pinot Noir in Champagne.
‘Lelieur’ means ‘the craftsman’, reflecting the art of blending that lies at the heart of a really special Champagne - This stunning vintage blend, made by a group of pioneering family growers, is rich and toasty with pure citrus flavours. A soft and creamy champagne, with gentle bubbles and a nice blend of citrus and classic patisserie flavours - think lemon curd on toasted brioche.
This wine can be drunk now but will further improve if carefully stored for up to 4 years
Pale, golden-yellow colour with subtle green glints and wonderful luminosity, a persistent stream of fine and delicate bubbles. A nose of frech fruits dominated by citrus fruit and pineapple mixed with notes of white flowers and spices (ginger and cardamom).
A superb Blanc de Blancs with a clean, pure and well-defined palate. The attack is supple and full-bodied giving way to a superb, very refreshing finish of white peach and citron notes.
