A multi dimensional bouquet of roasted meats, mineral, cola, tar and blackberry. Give this one time to open up, this monster is built for the long haul! The palate starts out thick and coating; immediately powerful and explosive, you are then thrown a huge chunk of fruit while the acid and tannin roll around trying to tame it. The wine shows great oak handling and remains succulent, complete and perfectly balanced.

Professional Reviews

95/100
Wine Spectator
This ultrarich and decadent Shiraz comes from old vines in Greenock, a prime growing area in the Barossa. They make heady wines that don't weigh you down like some big Shiraz can. This one has zippy acidity to balance the generous layers of black cherry, boysenberry and black plum flavors, shaded with bittersweet chocolate and smoke notes as the finish becomes increasingly plush.

93/100
The Wine Advocate
The stunning 2004 Shiraz Coach House Block reveals a deep ruby/purple hue and plenty of blackberry, cassis, pepper, and smoky, toasty oak flavours. It is an in-your-face wine with beautiful purity as well as intensity.
WA, Robert Parker Jr. Issue: #167

91/100
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
Inky violet. Sexy, oak spice-driven aromas of blackberry, candied plum and violet. Broad and lush, with sweet dark fruit flavors showing impressive breadth and depth. Suave, well-knit tannins provide support. The fruit takes on a brighter red berry tone on the finish, which is crisp and well-focused but rich in flavour.
