Two Hands-Lily's Garden-Shiraz-2004-750mL

Producer: Two Hands
SKU: 656
Delivery date: Dispatch within 1-3 day's

Wow, This one scares me! Amazingly dense black in colour, the bouquet is expressive and filled with plums, mocha, aniseed, coffee, Asian spices and melted chocolate with secondary notes of clove and tobacco.

The mouthfeel is dense, lush and sweet with an oozy density and a layered fruit driven palate, this Lily’s is more like the 2002.

95/100
The Wine Advocate
Even better than the Harry & Edward's Garden is the 2004 Shiraz Lily's Garden from McLaren Vale. With this cuvee, about 25% new American oak is added to the regime of French wood. Full-bodied with stunning, dusty, loamy soil characteristics interwoven with blackberry, cassis, cherry, and plum-like fruit, this rich, pure, intense Shiraz should be consumed over the next 10-12+ years.
WA, Robert Parker Jr. Issue: #167

94/100
Wine Spectator
Lithe, almost elegant, with impressive depth of flavor and fine texture. The flavors center on blackberry, cherry, dried tomato, exotic spices and mineral notes as the finish sails on and on against refined tannins.
WS, Harvey Steiman Issue: Feb 28 2006

94/100
Wine Companion
Dense colour; gloriously generous blackberry and dark chocolate fruit; firm structure and tannin backbone.
, James Halliday Issue: Sep 2005

Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
Saturated violet. Smoky, chocolate-tinged blackberry and cassis on the nose, with accents of vanilla and fresh flowers. Firm and youthful, with dark berry flavors showing impressive sweetness and depth. Gains richness and volume with aeration, taking on a candied plum quality on the finish. Fine-grained tannins come up on the back end. A great combination of structure, power and sweet fruit. This was raised in 23% new American oak hogsheads but the wood influence is subtly sweet and not at all intrusive
ST, Josh Raynolds Issue: Aug 1 2006

Two Hands-Lily's Garden-Shiraz-2005-750mL

Typical of our McLaren Vale style, the 2005 shows delicious distinctive mocha, chocolate and sweet plum characters. Backed by a lush, plush mouthfeel and oodles of juicy ripe fruit laced with an underlying black pepper spice and a silky tight tannin structure. But don’t be deceived this is a serious wine with serious aspirations!

Torbreck-The Factor-Shiraz-2003-750mL

Our homage to the great old vines of the Barossa Valley, this wine is composed of 100% Shiraz. Complex and concentrated, the wine is cloaked in velvet tannins that will continue to develop for another 10 at least.

The Factor is all that you would expect of a pureblood Barossa Shiraz.

d'Arenberg-The Dead Arm-Shiraz-2002-750mL

The 2002 season was characterised by a cold, wet winter and spring, which produced lower yields with good, thick-skinned berries. The cool and dry summer ripened fruit gradually and a warm, dry autumn allowed the grapes to ripen fully, producing some of the best and most exotic characters seen for many years.
