93/100
The Wine Advocate
The opaque ruby-colored 2002 Shiraz exhibits terrific fruit intensity, voluminous, beautifully textured, full-throttled flavors, low acidity, and tremendous purity as well as intensity with the oak component kept well in the background.
WA, Robert Parker Jr. Issue: #155

90/100
Wine Companion
Dense colour; strongly regional, opulent blackberry, plum and chocolate mid-palate; tightens up nicely with tannins on the finish.

Wine Spectator
Dense and chewy, with a crisp edge to the cedary blueberry and stewed plum flavors, finishing with firm tannins.

Kay Brothers Amery-Estate-Shiraz-2002-750mL

Medium ruby. Assertive, high-toned red berry aromas are complemented by anise, coconut, violet and rose. Quite suave in texture, with bright, sweet flavors of raspberry, cherry, violet pastille and candied licorice.

There's nice lift and energy to the finish, which shows clear raspberry and cherry flavors that really cling to the palate.

Kay Brothers Amery-Estate-Cabernet Sauvignon-2002-750mL

Kay's are specialist traditional red wine makers utilising grapes from their own 22-hectare Amery Vineyard. The grape varieties grown are Shiraz (including the 1892 Block 6), Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Viognier, Grenache, Mourvedre (Mataro) and Muscat Blanc.

Colin Kay's winemaking philosophy is to make rich full-bodied fruit-driven wines (using the original Open Fermenters and Basket Press) with small oak cask maturation.

Two Hands-Bella's Garden-Shiraz-2004-750mL

Deep black core with an intense purple rim. The nose shows great intensity of blackberries and plum with a cedar dark chocolate edge.  A seamless full bodied palate showing a complex kaleidoscope of black fruits that are not intrusive but mingle harmoniously with the subtleties of the oak.

This wine possesses elegance and fruit purity; the tannins are evident but well balanced producing a ‘silk pillow’ mouth feel that is long and persistent.
