94/100
Wine Companion
Bright red and dark fruits on the bouquet, with a little savoury edge of dried leather and spice; the finish is long, pure and even.

The Wine Advocate
From 6- to 34-year-old vines, the 2004 Shiraz Hillside spent 28 months in American oak, 50% new and 50% used. A blockbuster effort, it reveals deep, chocolaty, meaty notes intermixed with blackberries, cherries, and cassis. Inky/ruby/purple-colored, with a large mouthfeel, full body, and well-integrated acidity, tannin, and alcohol, this is a superb McLaren Vale Shiraz.
WA, Robert Parker Jr. Issue: #167

92/100
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
Deep ruby. Powerful red and dark berry aromas display liqueur-like power and depth, with suave vanilla, cola, tobacco and graphite qualities adding complexity. Juicy black raspberry and cherry-cola flavors are underscored by smoky minerals and framed by velvety tannins. Finishes broad and sweet, with excellent cut and sappy persistence.
ST, Josh Raynolds Issue: Oct 1 2008
