Full-throttle Shiraz are fashioned from vineyards owned by the Longbottom family. This is an unabashed, flamboyant, Aussie wine that is loaded with fruit, fragrance, glycerin, and intensity. This is the type of wine that Eurocentric wine tasters and condescending elitists tend to dismiss, but it is a fascinating effort the likes of which are made nowhere else in the world. There is certainly no shortage of flavor, and if you like your wines exuberant, flamboyant, and over-sized, this wine fills the tab, and then some.

Wow, This one scares me! Amazingly dense black in colour, the bouquet is expressive and filled with plums, mocha, aniseed, coffee, Asian spices and melted chocolate with secondary notes of clove and tobacco.
The mouthfeel is dense, lush and sweet with an oozy density and a layered fruit driven palate, this Lily’s is more like the 2002.
Dense purple red almost black. A powerful nose of ripe plums and succulent blackberries laced with a hint of cedar spice. Wow! Bella's as always shows amazing depth and power whilst maintaining an elegant fruit purity. Matured in all French oak, the majority being seasoned barrels, allowing the fruit to do the talking with only the merest hint of cedar oak to support the ripe plum and mulberry flavours. Finely woven tannins produce a long linear wine forming a race track like structure along the palate. Great length and persistency of flavour.
Typical of our McLaren Vale style, the 2005 shows delicious distinctive mocha, chocolate and sweet plum characters. Backed by a lush, plush mouthfeel and oodles of juicy ripe fruit laced with an underlying black pepper spice and a silky tight tannin structure. But don’t be deceived this is a serious wine with serious aspirations!

The 2005 Reserve Shiraz, made exclusively with fruit from our exceptional hillside vineyard in Padthaway, is supremely refined and elegant. The complex and intoxicating nose displays an abundance of violet and rose perfumed talc. Lively aromas of mint and eucalyptus, characteristic of a classic Padthaway Shiraz, fill the headspace. These aromas all evolve in the glass over time continuing to stimulate and impress. The seamless full palate from start to finish conquers your senses with luscious ripe blueberry and bramble blackberry fruit. Silky tannins and layers of creamy oak, spice, cedar and mocha truffle complete this stunning and superbly balanced wine.
Parson’s Flat plays homage to Padthaway’s early settlers with its classic Australian blend of Shiraz and Cabernet. The mail coaches of the nineteenth century not only carried mail, but also had an important function in connecting isolated country communities. It was not uncommon for the district Parson to use the coach system to visit and commune with his parish.
2005 Parson’s Flat has a dense ripe cherry colour with a purple hue. The nose displays a concentrated array of mixed forest berries, smoky cigar box, spicy pepper, clove, caramel and mocha. An initial sweet concentrated explosion of luscious blackberry on the palate leads to savoury spice, coffee bean and liquorice. Cabernet Sauvignon is still evident, contributing some attractive leafy and spearmint/peppermint flavours. Firm and granular tannins leave the mouth with a persistent coating. A finely tuned blend that allows both varieties to express themselves.
