92/100
The Wine Advocate
The gorgeous 2002 Shiraz was aged in 85% French and 15% American oak. Loads of blackberry fruit are found in this opulent, full-bodied, pure, heady Shiraz. This offering will not be particularly long-lived, but it possesses a pure flavor, good texture, and offers a considerable value.
WA, Robert Parker Jr. Issue: #155

87/100
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
Full medium ruby. Superripe aromas of currant, blackberry, smoke and truffle. Very sweet, ripe and gamey, just this side of cloying. Notes of nutmeg, smoke and tobacco leaf. At once creamy-sweet and lightly vegetal. Finishes with sweet, smooth tannins.

Fox Creek-Fox & Hounds-Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon-2003-750mL

Appears bright cherry red with a darker plum coloured core. The nose shows licorice and dark fruits, toasty oak with a chocolatey rum & raisin aroma. The entry to the palate is soft with a rich solid palate that is typically McLaren Vale, with blackcurrant and stewed plum flavours. The structure is typical of Fox Creek showing ripe fruit tannin with integrated oak complexity.

d'Arenberg-The Dead Arm-Shiraz-2002-750mL

The 2002 season was characterised by a cold, wet winter and spring, which produced lower yields with good, thick-skinned berries. The cool and dry summer ripened fruit gradually and a warm, dry autumn allowed the grapes to ripen fully, producing some of the best and most exotic characters seen for many years.
