Daniel's Top Picks - An unexpecting Gem!
Still rich, ripe, primary fruit driven nose with strong cassis notes and appealing chocolate characters. Likewise flavours of blackberry and chocolate on the palate with a medium bodied weight. Tannins are now velvety and fine and add to the appeal as this wine has softened over the last decade. Appropriately, has a good length of flavour and will sit well on the dinner table with most meat dishes. Well balanced and still a good 5 years left of pleasurable drinking in this wine. Biased, yes but for me, this is a perfect example of what happens when your wine is stored in the right conditions from release to table. From 2001, an unexpecting gem that will surely impress!
