Awatere River, by Louis Vavasour is a collection of award winning, low yield, premium quality wines that reflect the distinctive terroir of the alluvial river flats on which they were grown.
The Vavasours' family settled in NZ in 1887, pioneering commercial grape-growing and winemaking. Louis's parents, Peter and Anna Vavasour planted the first vines in the Awatere Valley in 1986 and established the regions first winery, Vavasour wines. Continuing this family journey, Louis Vavasour established his Awatere River Winery nestled amongst the vines in the Lower Dashwood, Awatere Valley, beneath Mt. Tapuaenuku, Marlborough and is the culmination of 15 years immersion wine making, drawing on over a century of Vavasour family tradition.
Focusing on length, structure and complexity, Awatere River produces exceptional Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
